Meet the Team
Working at Llanidloes Medical Practice, you’ll reap the benefits of being part of a proactive and close-knit team of GPs and support and admin staff. Each staff member at the practice plays a crucial role in community and patient care; and many of the GPs extend their expertise to local health boards and planning groups.
Patient satisfaction is an integral part of practice life and the team at Llanidloes pride themselves on their flexible approach to meeting patients’ requirements.
In the last year, the practice has employed a part-time Physicians Associate who collaboratively with other members of the Primary Care Team and within the policies and procedures of the practice. The Physicians Associate participates in all treatment and preventative healthcare services as delegated, providing all direct clinical care to patients. This includes participating fully in the clinician’s rota, including the provision of home visits when appropriate.
Since November of last year the practice has also worked with Urgent Care Practitioners. These are contracted through Shropdoc and are based in the practice, conducting telephone consultations and dealing appropriately with routine and emergency problems. The Urgent Care Practitioners are also able to call in patients if necessary, take medical histories, perform physical examinations and analyse, diagnose and explain medical problems all under the direct supervision of the GP on call.
The practice works closely with the community pharmacist, an Independent Prescriber who works with in the practice supporting both its clinical services and staff.
